Wieliczka Salt Mine with Private Chauffeur and Licensed Guide
Operated by My Krakow Driver
Overview
The Salt Mine is located very close to Cracow in the nearby city of Wieliczka. The story of salt in this place has begun almost 5000 years ago. However, the mine started to grow deeper since the end of the 12 century. Its nine levels go down to 327 meters (357 yards) and the total length of corridors exceeds 3 km (1.86 miles). Salt Mine Wieliczka was listed on the first UNESCO World Heritage List. Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the largest and oldest salt mines in the world. A guide shows you the way through a maze of tunnels, chambers, and stairways built over eight centuries.
